“Do you know someone who’s having a hard time this season? Are you?
Even though Christmastime is a season of great joy and light, for many of us, it can
feel heavy, almost like a season of darkness and shadows. The joy around us can
accentuate the pain and loss we have carried. Sorrow, grief, and longing sometimes
jolt up unexpectedly like crashing waves. Other times they feel more like a churning
that persists even when celebration surrounds us.
The purpose of this service is not to take the darkness away or minimize any pain,
but to help reveal God’s presence in the midst of it. This time set apart is a reminder
that we do not journey alone.
We hope you’ll join us and invite someone to come with you to our Blue Christmas
Service on December 21 at 4:30pm. We are gathering together to acknowledge the
hope we have in this season, even in the midst of challenges, losses, and struggles.”
