NEW ZOOM-BASED BIBLE STUDY BEGINNING THURSDAY, MAY 13!
Tish Harrison Warren has written a wonder of a book, “Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life” has been named the “Book of the Year” Christianity Today. I’ve read the book and found Andy Crouch’s comments about it to be spot-on:
“With the writer’s (and indeed the poet’s) gift of slowing down and paying the best kind of attention, Tish Harrison Warren connects the moments of an ordinary day with extraordinary pattern of classical Christian worship . . . . With its laugh-out-loud moments and moving descriptions of a life lived imperfectly but well, this is a great gift of a book: an ordinary book, in one way, but also not ordinary at all.”
Our study will begin Thursday, May 13, at 7pm on Zoom. You can purchase the book on-line or through the church for $10.
One of the reasons that I am so excited to have us read this book together is because it is both very accessible to someone who may not have done a group study before (we will be using the discussion questions and practices provided in the book) yet also very stretching for someone who may have been on the journey for a while.
If you would like to take part, email me at psmith@fcchanson.org.
I look forward to growing with you as we study together!
