Happy Friday
Do you sometimes go through days, or even weeks, and not feel very special? Maybe you’ve got health, money, family, neighbor, or boss problems, and you start to wonder what it’s all about.
Let’s go back to the beginning. Scientists have identified over 1.3 million animal species on earth, all created by God:
“God made the wild animals, according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that is was good.” [Genesis 1:25]
But God created only one species in His image:
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them. [Genesis 1:27-28a]
Not feeling special yet? God knew us before we were even born, and even knows the exact span of everyone’s time on earth:
“your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” [Psalm 139:16]
Need more? He even knows our names!
“Listen to me, you islands; hear this, you distant nations: Before I was born the LORD called me; from my birth he has made mention of my name. [Isaiah 49:1]
“However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” [Luke 10:20]
So if a day dawns when we don’t feel special, may I submit that it is because we are being influenced by one of Satan’s lies, of which he has many. We are the only ones out of 1,300,000+ beings that the Creator of All Things made in His image, and Who knew us before we were born, and Who even knows us by name. And let me be so bold as to highlight that last fact, that the One who created trillions of stars, and millions of animals, KNOWS OUR NAME. And loves us. We should feel special indeed.
