God is on the Move

Happy, happy Friday, everyone–

Just in case you haven’t noticed it yet, let me point out this fact: God is on the move.  Of course, God has always been on the move to some extent, in ways big and small.  But for now I’m talking about the times we live in.  It’s fairly obvious to see some of the big ways

God is moving.  One example involves, since the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the explosion of the number of students signing up for membership in Turning Point USA, the organization founded by him.

Another example might be the outpouring of support believers are providing to organizations such as Samaritan’s Purse, or the Salvation Army, groups that provide disaster relief in difficult times.  Also, we can consider the increased attendance at world-wide evangelical events.  Plus the outpouring of God’s Spirit at many universities.

But I believe that God is moving the most in small ways, in individual lives.  In other words, in the hearts of people like you and me.  The Apostle Paul and King David show us the path:

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind….”  [Romans 12:2a,b]

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”  [Psalm 51:10]

Of course Satan, who still wants to be God, is also on the move:

“Be self-controlled and alert.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” [I Peter 5:8]

Can it really be possible to avoid Satan’s wiles?

“Submit yourselves, then, to God.  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”  [James 4:7]

And you get to choose whether to follow the movement of God, or the movement of Satan We should get our clue from Joshua:

“…But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”  [Joshua 24:15f]

People are being saved, prayers are being answered, miracles are happening all over the world.  In my humble opinion, one can either get on board, or stand aside.

Because God is on the move.

Blessings,

–Keith
