2026 Missions Updates

Mission Matters

The Missions Committee appreciates your continued support!  We have several new projects planned for 2026, as well as the tried and true favorites. Look for additional information in all the usual sources such as the website, Sunday bulletin and weekly email blast.

We all know change is inevitable.  This year the Missions Committee will feel the transition of several long-serving and dedicated members.  When you see these folks, congratulate them on a job well done.

  1. Tracy Steirs (21 years)
  2. Nancy Spoerke (9 years)
  3. Debi Mullaney (4 years)

Souper Bowl Sunday was a success for the Hanson Food Pantry, thanks to you loyal Patriots fans. (My condolences on the game outcome!) Cash and food were collected for our neighbors.  Please remember the continuing need for quality protein, whole grains, canned fruits and vegetables as well as healthy kid-friendly snacks. Collection bins are located throughout the community.

A new program for 2026 is a small-group entitled “Hands-on Missions”.  This is a collaboration between the Small Group Ministry and the Missions Committee.  The specific details are still being worked out.  So far, here are the basics:

  1. Not a Bible Study
  2. Not a Craft Group
  3. Focuses on building Community and Fellowship
  4. Monthly gatherings
  5. Items needed to support various ministries will be packed or prepared as needed. (Samples will be available for viewing.)
  6. Knitters and Crocheters are welcome to make hats and scarves for Seafarers’ Friend Ministry.

Have questions?  Please speak with a member of the Missions Committee.  We are usually available at Coffee Hour after the Sunday Service.

Respectfully submitted,

Cheri K. Wicks
