Trust in…?

Who do you put your trust in these days?  By that I mean, who do you really, really count on.  If you’re blessed, you have one or more people who fall into that category.  Many others, however, tend to put their trust into political parties, or organizations, or communities. The rest put their trust in money, power, or, in the saddest of cases, they put their trust only in themselves.  Who to trust?

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” [Psalm 20:7]

“The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble.  He cares for those who trust in him,..” [Nahum 1:7]

“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid.  The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.” [Isaiah 12:2]

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” [Romans 15:13]

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on you own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” [Proverbs 3:5-6]

“Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God; trust also in me.” [John 14:1]

To conclude, I noticed during a recent Bible study that if you look intently at the word ‘†rus†’, it has a cross at the beginning of the word and a cross at the end.  I take that to mean that we should have trust in Jesus the first time He calls, and trust in Jesus with our last breath.
