I recently read a simple story about an elevator operator way back, when elevators actually had operators. Way back. As part of what he considered his job, he would pass out business cards to his customers, which read as follows:
I’m just a nobody, Telling everybody, About Somebody, Who can save anybody.
What a witness. And as you know, I love to break down verses, or in this case, business cards:
I’m just a nobody–
“As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.” [Psalm 102:15-16]
Telling everybody–
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.” [Matthew 28:19a]
About Somebody–
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” [Mark 10:45]
Who can save anybody–
“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” [Matthew 1:21]
I purposely matched the four lines of the business card to the first verse that came to mind. However, I am confident that you, yes you, can share other verses that also illustrate one or more of the statements on the business card.
Have at it, and Happy Friday.
Blessings,
