How Big Is God?

How big is God?  Is there anyone who completely understands the sheer power involved in creating the universe just by speaking a trillion, trillion stars into existence?  In one day, mind you

“God made two great lights–the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night.  He also made the stars.” [Genesis 1:16, describing day 4 of creation]

God sounds so powerful that He couldn’t possibly be involved in the smallest of things, could He? Let’s see what Jesus, God’s Son, has to say about that:

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?  Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.  And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows” [Matthew 10:29-31]

Choose for yourselves, but I am not intelligent enough to completely fathom how One could form the universe in one day, but that same One knows the number of hairs on my head. But I now better understand why one of our main jobs here on earth is to worship Him:

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.” [Psalm 95:6-7]

Reasons to worship God abound, especially when we realize that the God of creation is powerful enough to be any type of God He wants. So let me close by showing what type of God He chose to be:

“…God is love….”[1 John 4:16b]
