300 Fridays of Faith

Happy, happy Friday to everyone

I almost can’t believe it myself, but this is my 300th Friday morning email.  Six years!  God is good.  And a special shout-out to the 42 original recipients, including my Mom and three others who have gone on to their reward in Heaven.  The number of readers has more than doubled since the first email, and I hope and pray that we continue to add others.  All in God’s timing, of course.

Perhaps now is as good a time as any to review this ministry.  And I used to hesitate to even call it a ministry, as I yielded to the ministry of preachers, music directors, prayer warriors, caregivers, and cooks.  But I now realize that any job God gives you should be considered a ministry, and these emails are one of mine.

Early on, I used to worry that God would not impart an idea to me each and every week.  But lately I have developed a faith that He would, in fact, provide.  Worry–what a waste of time.  Also, I used to measure my message by how many replies I received.  How vain!  What I do now is, just before I hit the ‘send’ button, is pray that the Holy Spirit travels through the ethernet to speak to that one person who needs to receive that one particular message on that exact day.  And if it turns out to be more than one person, all the better.

With only the rare exception, I always include at least one verse from the Bible in these emails, and today should be no different.  And the verse I am led to include, especially in this season, might be considered to be the single greatest verse of all, the foundation of every God-loving, Jesus-following, citizen of Heaven, which includes the three most uplifting words in Scripture:

“He is not here, he has risen, just as he said.  Come and see the place where he lay.” (Matthew 28:6)

So thank you to each and every one of you for your time, your support, and especially for your prayers.  I’ll do my best to continue my ministry, and may God guide and inspire you, today and always, to continue yours.

Blessings to all,

Keith
